Had DPE O’Connell for PPL. Very knowledgeable and kind. He will work with you, and he gives a lot of flexibility where he can. Make and fly a good navlog, and it will make his day. Very practical person who wants to make sure you understand flying. Be familiar with the ACS because he will let you choose between a few different options for testing (ex. lets you choose between turns around a point or S-turns. DPE O’Connell wants to see you succeed. Show up early, confident, knowledgeable, and match his positive vibe and you’ll be good.
