Pilot Reviews

Dave Hensch was very friendly and professional for my PPL checkride. He gave me solid feedback on a few minor issues at the end during our debrief. I'd recommend him for anyone needing their checkride.

Use any other DPE. David Alan Hensch will fail you, count your money, and leave less than an hour after your scheduled start time. He is vague with his questions, mumbles and doesn't make eye contact, and if you take too long to answer a question he will unsat you even if you get the answer correct. He nitpicks, and even after you show that you do indeed have what he's looking for, and after he verbally acknowledges that yes, you actually did get that right, he will still put it on your permanent record that you got it wrong. Highly unprofessional. He isn't interested in finding out if you will be a safe pilot, he just wants his $1000 fee for a private checkride for less than one hour of work so he can feel like one of the 'big boys', the quality DPE's who actually have worked hard to deserve that fee. Save your time and money and wait for a DPE that is experienced, knowledgeable, fair, and actually wants to take the time to find out how much you know.
