A note from Dr Owen - I was able to work out an agreement to be able to do all classes of FAA medical exams at ATD Flight Systems in the historic Hangar 1 at MKC. It is on the second floor just down the hall from the TWA office of Howard Hughes with a clear view through a one way tinted window of the runway and flightline-how cool is that?!? The FAA has verbally blessed it and I am waiting for the confirmation next week. The scheduling will be done by calling dispatch at ATD Flight Systems 816-221-8455 and the October dates should be available soon. I will have 24 hour access so if there are any special needs I hope to be able to accommodate them. I am very thankful to Bill Hayes, Andrew Waterland, Dr. Dan Berry at the FAA and all of the pilots who have become friends over the past 34 years. I will continue to be the director of emergency medicine at Liberty Hospital but should still have considerable flexibility. I guess if anyone needs an IPC maybe we can make a package deal! Great AME but will no longer be doing Pilot exams for the foreseeable Future. He is unable to get office space and staffing at this time.
